Answered By Editor If you have in-laws who completely do not understand homeschooling, let them ask questions. Let them know that homeschooling is a family affair and that you feel parents and other family members are a part of your child's education. Help them become supportive. If, on the other hand, your in-laws seem belligerent or negative to your homeschooling, try to stay away from homeschooling topics. When they interfere, let them know you are the child's parent and are capable of making those decisions for the child. Then, stear away from the subject. They understand how you feel, but you don't allow one another to get into an uncomfortable disagreement. Over time, as your in-laws see your children becoming wonderful, warm and bright children, they will not feel the need to interfere as much.
